Ever since Alfred Peet opened the doors of his first small Berkeley shop in 1966, Peet's has been known as a pioneer of fine, distinctive coffees — high-grown, higher quality, and deeply roasted to maximize flavor. House Blend is a perfect introduction to our signature style.
First crafted by Mr. Peet, this blend of carefully selected, choice beans from our favorite Latin American origins brews a quality cup that's uniquely rich and approachable, with a pleasant spiciness. It's deep-roasted by hand in small batches to impart the most flavor and aroma. And like all our coffees, it's delivered unimaginably fresh.
The bright, balanced flavors and medium body make House Blend so inviting and easy to love, Mr. Peet used to call it a "starter coffee." He would recommend it to get customers acclimated before introducing them to a range of flavors. But we think he may have underestimated himself; more than four decades later, Peetniks everywhere are still at home with House.

Peets coffees are all roasted to perfection! I've tried just about everything in their store. I was a Major D's fan, then switched to Peets medium roasts, also ordered the Kona, JR Reserve, the Red Harrar (not sure of the spelling), a couple of the deep roasts...all of them. Up until this morning I had never tried the House Blend! I bought it yesterday, whole bean, at Target. WOW!!! It's not too dark, it's not too medium...it's just right. I LOVE it! It's smooth, great tasting and looks like it's time to put another pot on!! Highly recommended ... and....the price is right. From now on, this is one of my "go to" coffees from Peets!
As an east coaster by nature, (New Yorker) Peet's was always an unknown to most of us, I had MDB my favorite Peet's coffee back in the 2000's and was hooked even sense. I'm attempting to try every kind possible. Love this coffee.
I've been drinking Peet's coffees since 1986, when I lived in Boston, and made friends with a guy from Berkeley who introduced me to it. It's the only coffee I drink, as nothing else can compare! I moved to Australia in 2005. I tried to like another coffee, as international shipping is expensive, but couldn't give up Peet's. So to this day, Peet's is all I drink.
I usually wait until Peet's offers a Limited Edition roast, and order a few pounds of it together with some of their signature roasts. Until recently, I never tried House Blend, the cheapest coffee Peet's sells. It is described as a "starter coffee" for people just getting used to Peet's dark roast. I thought to myself, "I'm too sophisticated for that." On a whim, I thought I'd try a bag. OMG! This is really great coffee! Now I'll always include some in my orders. If all I could afford was $12.95/lb, I'd still drink this and never give up Peet's.
I gave up Starbucks for this. I never go in Starbucks anymore
I'm hooked on Peet's House Blend. I discovered Peet's many years ago in Berkley. I was so happy to find it again in stores after I moved back to Georgia. I drink a mug every day.
