Let us introduce you to the crew. Their talent and experience as roasters make them coffee artisans, but their dedication and passion are what make them ambassadors of the Peet's tradition. To get the opportunity, each one makes a 10-year commitment and puts in years of training before being considered a roast master. They all have an unbridled enthusiasm for roasting rich, remarkable coffees by hand.
They're quick to tell you how closely they examine and smell the green coffee beans before configuring just the right air temperatures for each roast, monitoring the transformation every step of the way. They'll wax poetic about combining beans in precise proportions for blends, to accentuate the individual coffees' most distinctive flavors and characteristics. And when it's done, they cup – personally sampling every batch to taste the deep-roasted results. If it's not absolutely perfect, they won't ship it. Simply put, your coffee could not be in more devoted conscientious hands than those of our ten highly trained roasters: Steve, Nic, Rob, Matthew, Alan, Eliseo, Aleece, Paul, Rick, and Michael.
