The signature taste and rich coffee character of French Roast comes from a longer, hotter roast, which not all beans can handle. For our darkest roast, we select only top-quality Arabica coffee from the highest altitudes of prime Latin American growing regions. Beans mature slowly at these altitudes, becoming denser, harder and packed with flavor — perfect for retaining boldness and complexity under the intense heat of a deep roast.
Peet's French Roast is not a coffee for the cautious, but for those who embrace the powerful taste, pronounced smoky overtones, and pleasant bite. This dark, deeply flavorful blend pairs well with cream and sugar, and inspires reactions like this one from John "Nic" Nicolini, a Peet's roaster for over 20 years: “On a normal day, I cup 50 coffees before 7 a.m. But I always come back to French. You inhale that smoky aroma, and then a subtle sweetness pops out that awakens your taste buds. It’s visceral.”
Very bold tasting French Roast for a coffee that is being brewed in a Keurig machine. It's smooth and has a smoky aroma that makes it a good wake-me-up morning cup of coffee. I drink it black with a teaspoon of raw sugar and it's the perfect cup to a dessert too. I wish they made the Decaf French Roast in the Kcups.
I've been drinking Newman's organic for quite awhile now. Since trying your Peet's French roast I'll not switch for some time now. What great flavor. I love it. I would hope you never run out of the french roast. Four cups a day. Keep filling those K-CUPS. THANKS PAUL
Moved from the Bay Area after years of drinking Peet's French Roast and missed it terribly. Moved to south Florida in 2005 and could never find a substitute. People here love Dunkin Donuts but it was never robust enough for me. I tried every French Roast I could find but never found the smoothness and richness of Peet's. Once, at the supermarket, I found a box of K-cups with the Peet's label and was thrilled. That's when I began mail-ordering it. Keep it coming!
