I have been using the Aeropress for two years now, and I LOVE IT!!! I still use my press pot for when I want more than one cup of coffee, but most days it is the Aeropress. As far as I'm concerned, press pot coffee is the only way to go!
One suggestion, please start carryng the replacement aeropress filters.
My favorite way to make a single cup of coffee. I typically use it to brew americano style (amaerocano?), and for a quick and tasty cold beverage I'll press it directly over ice. Full immersion extraction + paper micro-filter = a full-bodied, clean cup every time. And speaking of clean, it is super easy to clean. Also, I've had mine for two years and it is virtually indestructible. Could it be the best thing to happen to coffee since... Alfred Peet???!!!
Got this for Christmas and the reviews DO NOT LIE! This is a simple way to make espresso. Very rugged design that will last. I've been drinking coffee for 40 years and I can't believe it has taken this long to discover something this simple yet so amazing.
I'm a French press guy all the way but this device will be a regular compliment to my morning routine. Need to make sure you have an adequate grinder to get a fine enough consistency to get the value. If you have one, GO FOR IT!
Who knew that the people who make the best yoyo in the world (and the best boomerang) also make the best coffee maker?
The Aeropress makes exceptionally fine ciffee, and very drinkable espresso. So far, it appears to be unbreakable, forgiving, easy to clean, but that's not the important bit.
The important bit is that it makes terrific coffee
At home we have a pricey automatic espresso maker, when we travel we used to lament the mornings without decent coffee/espresso. Then we got the Aeropress about 3 years ago and now it goes with us everywhere we travel! Aeropress and Major Dickason are our essential travel buddies. Can't say enough about how much I love this unit! Even in the car, if you have to, you can order a hot water at a drive-thru, and it is hot enough to brew in this machine. We bring along a small press pot for frothing milk, and DH can have his cappuccino, too.
I recently purchased an Aeropress based on a recommendation from my wife's cousin. I was skeptical at first, but then I noticed it's BPA-free and Made-In-USA, so I purchased one.
Wow, I'm glad I did, as it makes a really good cup of coffee. Of course you should be using nothing by Peet's beans.
Strong, flavorful but not bitter, very deep tasting, very rich. I absolutely love it. I use 3 heaping scoops of Peet's coffee ground to an espresso grind, then I slowly pour 200 degree water in up to the "#3" line --- stir for 15 seconds, and slowly press keeping constant pressure so the plunger doesn't go down for 10 seconds, then push a little harder so the plunger starts to go down, stop when you hit the grounds in the tube.
Add some more hot water to the cup, to make it a full mug, add a little 2% milk -- that's it. What Fantastic cup of coffee!
I'm so glad I purchased this Aeropress, it's absolutely amazing!
