Flavor Notes

A refreshing, relaxing and original take on Earl Grey

About this tea

Tea Story

In 19th century England, it was fashionable to make “house tea blends”; in fact, it is from this trend that Earl Grey was invented. Other creations did not stand the test of time so well. Our Signature Blend nods to forgotten tradition by adding French lavender flowers to a unique blend of five teas. There’s no other cup quite like it: uniquely floral, herbal and a house favorite.

Brewing Tips

Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
Bring the water to a rolling boil; steep tea for 3 to 4 minutes.
Strain leaves while pouring.

Good tea, but i take issue with the name "Earl Grey with Lavender" versus "Earl Grey with Bergamot" Earl Grey, by definition includes bergamot, so i find it confusing and misdescriptive to call anything without bergamot "earl grey" I still like it, i just get annoyed when order the Earl and have to be asked if i want bergamot or lavender. I believe Twinnings refers to their lavender blend as "lady grey" which is probably trademarked, but at least they gave it another name. :)

This is one of my favorite Peet's teas. It does have a unique flavor. We usually drink it iced, and as an iced tea, it's excellent. I wish it were back in the stores.

OMG~This is an aquired taste, the most important thing I can tell you is to aquire it. Its awesome. I tried this in the Peets store and thought "this is really weird" like drinking lavenender straight or rather herb tea, no, no, no this it is black tea my palate fought this fact big time. This is not strong in a black tea flavor, however; It is stong in a "pick me up" black tea effect. After drinking this with no coffee in the wee hours of the morning, I woke up, as soon as I had the last sip.Yay! I found that the pick me up and the after taste is what one me over, it very smooth and refressing...but still weird. The first time I had it I did what normal people do with Earl Grey, I put milk and honey in it. No, did nothing for it. So I tried lemon, no nothing. I gave up and drank it with plain old raw sugar, okay that did the trick.Still not aquired but close. I thought I would never

I had an old can of Peet's Earl Grey with Lavender in my pantry. I put 1/8 teaspoon of the dried tea on a canker under my tongue and the pain immediately went away. I also slept soundly for 4.5 hours, woke up, then went back to sleep. I've been using the tea this way to sleep every night since then. Never slept better.

I'm an avid coffee drinker, and when I drink tea I tend to stick to Jasmine Green Tea, but recently I tried the Earl Grey with Lavender, and I'm hooked. At first sip this tea might not be like any other you've tried, but add some honey and it's the most relaxing blend. With the added bonus of caffeine, you can''t go wrong. The taste is strong and takes some getting used to, but it's well worth it :)

I am an avid tea drinker and love Peet's selection of teas. This tea is the only one that I've tried and can not drink. This tea has and incredibly smoky after taste and i can''t help think of a burning building when i drink it. Stick to the Earl Grey with Bergamot, that one is amazing. Your taste buds will thank you.

Early Grey with Lavender is smoky, with notes of lavender (of course). It has a good astringency. Give it a chance, and you may be hooked.
