About this tea

Tea Story

A great cup of Earl Grey depends on quality ingredients and superior scenting technique. We use an India and Ceylon tea base with just a touch of essential oil pressed from the rind of Citrus bergamia fruit. The result: classic flavor that’s balanced yet vibrant.

Brewing Tips

Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
Bring the water to a rolling boil; steep tea for 3 to 4 minutes.
Strain leaves while pouring.

It was love at first cup. This is the best tea I have ever tasted. I was given a complimentary package at a grocery store during the Thanksgiving holiday a few years ago, and we have been having a love affair ever since. I love the aroma as much as the flavor. I will be heart broken if you ever stop making this one.

This is by far my favorite tea. The aroma is soothing and the flavors are perfectly blended. I buy two boxes every time I make a trip to Lubbock.

I was rather disappointed with this tea. I've had other really great teas from Peets, Lapsang Souchong, their holiday blend, Ti Kwan Yin and others, but this is not one of them. In the tin it has a nice aroma but when brewed in the cup it has a rather tannic mouth feel and flavor. There is little flavor conferred by the bergamot. I've had much better Earl Greys from tea bags.

This tea has a smooth aftertaste that is almost addicting. I have found no other brand of earl grey that even comes close to the soothing flavor of Peet's EG w/bergamot. A pot of earl grey and a newspaper or book is my favorite way to begin each day!
