About this tea

Tea Story

This juicy blend of black teas flavored with black currant is many people’s first introduction to our blended teas. The flavor is sweet and fruity, without any of the cloying notes that are commonplace with flavored teas. Black Currant is satisfying and refreshing both hot and iced.

Brewing Tips

Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
Bring the water to a rolling boil; steep tea for 4 to 5 minutes.
Strain leaves while pouring.

Iced Brewing Option:
Measure 2 heaping spoonfuls (6g) of tea for each cup of water to make a double-strength brew.
Bring water to a rolling boil, pour immediately and cover with a lid; steep for 4 to 5 minutes.
Strain into pitcher containing equal amount of chilled water.
Stir and serve over ice.

Ever since I've found this tea I haven't drank anything else. Best tea and taste ever. Definitely recommend.

I've loved it for 20 years. When I stopped drinking coffee this tea was the only thing that could replace it. It had the "aah" factor that made mornings good. "without any of the artificial notes that are commonplace with flavored teas" However, in September 2012 the flavoring changed. The sweet mellow current flavor changed very noticeably an artificial taste. I am so sad.

I have been an avid tea drinker for over 30 years-and have always returned to my favorite tea-Peet's Black Currant. By far, I have never found a tea that has matched the simple beauty of the delicate, sweet fruity notes, with a very high quality Indian tea. I am always so happy that Peet's has always had this tea available, and that I can order it no matter where I live! I have loved this tea for 3 decades-Thank you Peet''s! Michele

If you enjoy flavored teas at all, then let me recommend my favorite. It is Peet's Black Currant loose tea. Brew it as you would for hot tea then pour over ice. It has a delicious fruit flavor that when iced is the perfect glass of crisp, refreshing ice tea. Until you try this, you have not tasted the best iced tea around. Try it for yourself! Best yet, when you buy a tin of it at Peet's, they will brew you a complimentary glass with your purchase. Perfect!!!

My sister gave me some black currant tea. After trying this evening, I would like to say that I really enjoyed it. (I enjoyed it without adding any sugar or even honey) Will definitely be on my tea list. Thanks

I personally find this to be an amazing tea, perfect (in my opinion) when served without any sweetener or milk. I steep it for about 8 minutes to bring out all of the bitterness, and then chill it. It's like espresso when brewed this way, immediately astringent and mouth-numbing, followed by a punch of flavor no other tea can match. Highly recommend.

The essence of a summer day is captured in a cup. This is a refreshing blend of black teas with the fragrance and sweet, fruity taste of black currants. I especially enjoy a pot of this tea in the morning. It reminds me of summers that I spent in the mountains as a little girl, and having fresh-picked, wild blackberries with my breakfast. It is also delicious when served as an iced tea.

The versatility with which you can serve this tea is one of its strongest points. Peet
