About this tea

Tea Story

Jasmine teas vary according to the quality of the tea base and the skill and flower quality used for scenting. Yin Hao Jasmine delivers the best of everything. The tea is plucked in April during the Spring harvest, then tucked away until August when the finest jasmine blooms. The flowers are picked at noontime and kept until nightfall, when the temperature cools and the blooms open. Then the flowers and tea are blended together in layers, known as “marrying.” After several hours, the petals are removed and fresh flowers are applied. While ordinary grades are scented a couple of times, Yin Hao’s heady, otherworldly aroma comes from five to seven sets of fresh flowers.

Brewing Tips

Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
Bring the water to boil; let it cool for 30 seconds (200° F) before steeping tea for 4 minutes.
Strain leaves while pouring.

I would recommend this tea to anyone trying to eliminate sugar from their diets. I added half and half to this tea as the British do, added NO sugar, and the taste is reminiscent of a quality tea with HONEY. This description came immediately to mind after sampling it. I will be purchasing this winner on a regular basis.

This delightful and succulent green scented tea will fill your room with its aroma! Strongly related to Jasmine Snowflakes tea, it will produce all of its flavor in the first infusion so it tastes the best after one infusion. Although recommended to be steeped for 4-5 minutes, I highly recommend steeping it for 2-3 minutes to prevent the green tea side of Yin Hao from overshadowing the jasmine flavor with its tang. I also found that letting the water drop to 160-170 degrees F (boiling and letting is sit for 5 minutes before infusion) allows the tea to present the jasmine scent over the green tea tang as well. If you do those 2 steps, your Yin Hao Jasmine experience will be fantastic!

YIN HAO JASMINE TEA: I heard about this tea when someone I didn't know recommended it on a friend's Facebook page. Jasmine is my favorite tea, so I immediately ordered some to try. It is HANDS DOWN the BEST Jasmine tea I've ever had. It's hard to drink any other kind now, because they all pale in comparison. If you like Jasmine Tea and haven't tried Yin Hao, you're really missing out.

I used to live in San Diego, where Peets Coffee shops are plentiful. Something else that is plentiful- the taste of pure jasmine flowers in this tea. Most jasmine tea I've tasted has been very bitter, and I disslike bitter teas. I like drinking my tea plain or with just a touch of Splenda. This tea is perfect for just that. I would order it over ice... pure bliss. I felt like I was in Hawaii eating a Jasmine flower... sooooo good. Their Hibiscus-C blend is also very nice. For tea and flower lovers alike, these are two teas that blend both in perfect amounts.

I was served this tea at a friend's house and could not wait to purchase some of my own. Perfect sipping experience and best of all, there is no bitter taste. Excellent product. Thanks.

The best jasmine tea I have ever tasted; color and flavor match each other perfectly; light, clear and not too "perfumey". My favorite Peet's tea so far!

This is my very favorite jasmine tea yet. In some jasmine teas, the sweet jasmine aroma overpowers the green tea, but Yin Hao Jasmine is the epitome of harmony between jasmine and tea. I find myself craving it (especially in the winter time) because it has a specific, memorable taste I cannot forget.
