About this tea

Tea Story

Combining India teas with the unmistakable smokiness of Lapsang Souchong, this rich, hearty brew is impossible to ignore. Leaf sizes range from small, flaky Broken Orange Pekoe to long Souchong grade whole leaves. With its full body, pungent taste and woodsmoke aroma, it’s a great tea for a cold, bold morning.

Brewing Tips

- Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
- Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
- Bring the water to a rolling boil.
- Steep tea for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Strain leaves while pouring.
- test

i had always been an Irish breakfast tea drinker in the morning until I noticed your Scottish variety one day at Anderson & Co., our local coffee and tea shop in Austin. It is now my favorite - i can enjoy the smokiness of a peaty Isley single malt in the morning without the concerns that starting my day with Scotch might understandably raise!

I've been drinking your Scottish Breakfast Blend since you opened and I could walk down the hill from my Aunt's house on Eunice St to Walnut Square in Berkeley. I have ordered from wherever I've lived in the world or had someone visiting from the states be sure to bring a pound or two along.... Hawaii, Australia, Fiji, Vietnam! It is unique and perhaps it would be good to put it back in your lineup.
I live up in the San Juan's now and believe me, on those howling winters morning in Jan. when the trees are threatening to go east and the ocean's looking like a latte through the snow, there's nothing more comforting than that strange bouquet and bracing bite of your Scottish blend!
I do hope you get enough of a response to put it back in the lineup!

My favorite tea. My every-day, go-to tea. I make a big thermos of it to have with me all day. Sometimes I am in a meeting and someone is hankering after tea, I pour them a cup, and they ask where they can get a pound of their own.

I am glad to see that is available every 6 months or so, which means I can order lots of it and stock up. Please keep doing that.

My wife and I had been getting this tea monthly from a Peetniks regular delivery for several years. We tend to drink it most mornings, and were really disappointed when it was discontinued. We both find the blend to be a great balance, smoky enough to set it apart from any English Breakfast but not overly so.

We stocked up when we heard it was going away, and will be ordering a resupply now.

Peet's, please bring this one back into regular rotation!

This is a good tea, a blend of India Blacks with some Lapsang Souchong. A good tea for a wet and cold day. But it's not a great blend, I'm afraid. It needs some brightness and/or astringency. When I first started drinking this, I was quite pleased with it, but over time I came to find it a bit flat.

What I'd really like to see is for Peet's to rework this blend a bit, adding in some Ceylon maybe? And a bit of Assam? I'm not a master tea blender, but this is too good a blend not to take it just that bit further to make a really great blend.

This is my wife's favorite tea by far and away. She was crushed when she heard it was not available last year and suffered through a Winter-long malaise due to lack of Peet's Scottish Breakfast Tea. Please help us both by keeping this wonderful tea available!
