About this tea

Tea Story

Combining India teas with the unmistakable smokiness of Lapsang Souchong, this rich, hearty brew is impossible to ignore. Leaf sizes range from small, flaky Broken Orange Pekoe to long Souchong grade whole leaves. With its full body, pungent taste and woodsmoke aroma, it’s a great tea for a cold, bold morning.

Brewing Tips

- Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
- Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
- Bring the water to a rolling boil.
- Steep tea for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Strain leaves while pouring.
- test

This is a good tea, a blend of India Blacks with some Lapsang Souchong. A good tea for a wet and cold day. But it's not a great blend, I'm afraid. It needs some brightness and/or astringency. When I first started drinking this, I was quite pleased with it, but over time I came to find it a bit flat.

What I'd really like to see is for Peet's to rework this blend a bit, adding in some Ceylon maybe? And a bit of Assam? I'm not a master tea blender, but this is too good a blend not to take it just that bit further to make a really great blend.

This is my wife's favorite tea by far and away. She was crushed when she heard it was not available last year and suffered through a Winter-long malaise due to lack of Peet's Scottish Breakfast Tea. Please help us both by keeping this wonderful tea available!

The Scottish Breakfast tea is my all-time favorite Peets blend, and I sorely missed it this year when it stopped being offered.
I agree with the other reviewer - please keep it available consistently? In the meantime, I'm stocking up on the one-time blend in May and hope it will be available again when my stock runs out.

This has been our favorite tea for years. It seems to combine the flavors of a really good English Breakfast with smokey hints of a well made Lapsang Souchong. The taste is clean and is moderate to strong depending on how strongly you brew it. Unlike other teas known for having some smokey aspects, this tea has a much cleaner taste without the dusty quality present in some others we have tried. The tragedy is that Peets no longer stocks it in stores or sells it on line consistently! Okay, so this is less important than world peace, but it would be great to have it available consistently again. Thanks for making a great tea.
