About this tea

Tea Story

Assam is the largest tea-growing area in the world, and home to India’s only indigenous tea plants. From the moment the first lots sold at the 1839 London auction, Assam tea has maintained its dominance among British tea blends, due to its strong brew and perfect compatibility with milk. Golden Tip’s namesake leaves turn color during the peak quality period of the second flush, adding a pop of gold among the rich, black leaves.

Brewing Tips

"Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Use 1 teabag for each cup of water.
Bring the water to a rolling boil; steep tea for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on the strength desired."

Easy to brew in a teabag with no mess, but still retains all the flavor of the loose tea. I can brew it right in my thermos and it makes for a nice relaxing drink at lunch out in the woods of Mt. Diablo State Park while hiking. I always look forward to lunch knowing this tea is in my thermos. Highly recommended.

I love to hike and this is the tea I make right in my thermos to enjoy with lunch. It has a great malty flavor and a smooth and satisfying taste. I really look forward to drinking it on those cold windy days on Mt. Diablo, CA. I even drink it during the hot summer months as it is a great thirst cruncher. The tea bags are eas to deal with, but at home I always use the loose tea which is equally satisfying.
