As one friend says "you don't have to get up in the morning this tea comes looking for you." It makes me thirsty just talking about. Yes it's strong but very befitting to its name, the Irish aren't wimps! Long live the Irish and the tea, Peet's did it again, thanks.

Is Peet's Irish Breakfast Tea authentic Irish Breakfast Tea or not? This question has gripped the imagination of countless (well, at least a couple of) Peet's customers. I received an informal education in different kinds of teas at Peet's in Berkeley while at graduate school. Plus, I drank the same blend of tea while on vacation in Ireland! Irish Breakfast Tea it is, and it my favorite tea from Peet's. Enjoyment for all!

Not sure why Bob thinks this is not an "Irish Breakfast" blend. I've done my share of tea tasting, and this is a well-balanced, Assam-dominated blend, with a little floral brightness you don't find in the varietal. When it's brewed strong, and with a little milk, the malty character comes through. Maybe it just needs a long steep? Anyway, good stuff, and sometimes nothing else quite hits the spot.

this is not irish breakfast tea. it does not taste like any other irish blend. it tastes like a stronger version of liptons tea.

This is pretty much the only black tea I'll drink now. I used to drink just green tea but this has won me over. I drink a cup of this every morning instead of coffee. Try it, you'll like it.

This is the real thing. If you like the taste of tea, give this one a try. I start every morning with a steaming cup of Peet's Irish Breakfast, rain or shine. Brew it strong. You'll not find a finer Irish Breakfast than Peet's.

With a drop of milk, the maltiness of this tea forms a rich cup heavier than English Breakfast, lightened by a touch of citrus Indian teas. This has been my daily tea for years now.
