I have been drinking Peets French Roast for years. I love the deep rich flavor. I use a Chemix coffee pot, I think it makes a excellent cup of coffee. I also have the coffee ground on the number "3". It is a fine grind not expresso fine but fine. And I use 4 large scoops to yeild 3 cups (including creamer). I get crabby drinking any other cup.

i couldn't help but notice the mixed reviews french roast has gotten. as a french roast coffee imbiber, couple of suggestions: be wary of buying coffee beans from a grocery store. you have no idea how long they've been shelf sitting. secondly, ensure your coffee making equipment is immaculate. finally, start the coffee making process with cold water. (some coffee making fiends use only bottled spring water.)

Bought a 12 ounce bag of your French Roast, whole bean at the local Wal Mart this morning. Brought it home and opened the bag. The coffee looked and smelled great. Ground some up and used it in my espresso machine to make a cup. Wow, when you say smooth you really mean it! The hot dark liquid was pretty much without any flavor!! However, the reason I bought the dark roast was for some strong coffee flavor. Needless to say, I was disappointed. So I went to your website and looked up the reviews for this product. Hmmmmm..........

I have to say this is by far one of the most delicious coffee I had..however, recently I was visiting some friends in CA and bought some of this coffee to bring back home...MAJOR dissapointment!! did not tasted the same ;(....I guess the coffee at the store I went wasn't as fresh as i tought it will be....maybe some other time....

It is the best BEST coffee out there! It is expensive but worth it. I will serve it this Thanksgiving.

Your French Roast beans, sold through grocery stores, has been a great find for me, both for flavor, and for value. Excellent flavor every time I grind up some beans for coffee. Closest I have come to replicating "Coffee Connection" French Roast coffee, my favorite for a decade. It was based in Boston, but sold all of its stores to Starbucks many years ago, when they moved in. Starbucks does not have consistent subtlety of flavor.
