Tanzania Peaberry, available in tiny quantities, has been a customer favorite for a number of years, often selling out quickly. We are delighted to offer this rare and exceptional coffee again this year.
Grown on the slopes around Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest landform in Africa, Tanzania Peaberry comes from a group of small farmers working under the guidance of TechnoServe, a non-profit dedicated to entrepreneurship in emerging markets. Peet's has partnered with TechnoServe to help these farmers improve the quality of their coffee - and through that, the quality of their lives. Our direct relationship means we have the pick of the crop, and these peaberries are the pick of that very select crop, specially sorted for Peet's.

Peaberries are by their nature rare, occurring in about 5% of coffee crops. (One bean in the cherry develops, rather than the normal two, leaving just the ovoid 'peaberry'.) The tiny peaberries are prized for a remarkable concentration of flavor - you'll notice this cup is particularly bright and fruit filled. A peaberry is only as good as the crop it comes from, and this carefully selected Tanzania crop is very good. Bright and sweet, with the concentrated flavors of the finest peaberry crops and the fragrant blackberry notes characteristic of the region.
