Each year, our Holiday Blend is crafted anew, comprised of the finest coffees of the crop year; coffees collected and blended to celebrate the season. This year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Holiday Blend with a coffee that is hearty and complex, with notes of toffee and cacao.
Holiday Blend is one of our most popular special offerings, and it is available in limited quantities through December or while supplies last.
For this 25th vintage, we set aside a quantity of Sumatra Blue Batak three years ago and aged it, so that what was smooth is smoother, what was deep is deeper, and what was intriguingly herby is impossibly sweet brown tobacco-rich. Named for the indigenous Batak ethnic farmers, Sumatra Blue Batak is collected and graded repeatedly. Unroasted, it takes on a deep blue hue that is a result of a unique form of processing developed in Indonesia called "wet-hulling". This hand selected coffee exemplifies the best of the best from Sumatra.
Melding beautifully with this aged, concentrated dried fruit-like sweetness is the fresh, silky, berry and brown sugar sweetness of a superb Kenya. We've also included an estate Guatemala and a rare peaberry — culminating in a hearty cup, complex with notes of toffee and cacao. Enjoy this winter classic, a rich and luxuriant blend that is perfect for the season.
