Great coffee brings friends and neighbors together like nothing else. That's why we created this medium roast to pay tribute to the time-honored pastime of lingering in the café, casually sipping an expertly brewed cup over conversation.
The three Latin American coffees in this carefully crafted blend were selected for their balance and brightness, and the roast fine-tuned to brew the perfect medium-bodied cup. We decided to name it after our third café, opened by Alfred Peet in 1980 on Domingo Avenue in Berkeley, in the shadow of the Claremont Hotel. For more than three decades, Peet's regulars have gathered here to enjoy hand-crafted drinks and the camaraderie they inspire. And that's something worth commemorating.
I echo other reviewers….started drinking Cafe Domingo about a year ago and now can't find it locally. Bummer. Found it first at my local food Co-Op and then at one Target in town….and now it's nowhere to be found. I use only the whole beans. I was hooked, and now need to find the 'next' best thing.
Love this coffee. Perfect for cold brew no other one stacks up... I live in Iowa and I can find no one who carries Peets Cafe Dominican go anymore.. Bring it back to Iowa
I first saw Café Domingo in a taste test on America's Test Kitchen were it won over better known brands. I tried it and have been hooked ever since. I was picking it up at Wal-Mart but they no longer carry it. I must find a new source!!!
I'm very picky but I am not a coffee expert, I just know what I like. I have tasted extremely expensive coffees that have very high expert ratings that I did not care for at all and I have tasted cheap coffee at a diner that I thought was fabulous. I just enjoy coffee that has a certain flavor and "I know it when I taste it". Well, this coffee is almost there but what I discovered was that if I mix this one with the Major Dickason's Blend, it's there! I love both coffee's on their own but when i mix them 50/50 I end up with a fabulous cup of coffee that has the "IT" factor I'm after no matter what brewing method I use. I'm sure that coffee snobs would turn their noses up at me but oh well, it is what it is. Guests rave about my coffee when I serve the two mixed so I must be on to something! ( I am going to leave this same review for the Major Dickason's as well!)
I bought CD to satisfy a minimum order amount for work at Staples online. The reviews for this coffee were good and low acidity. It's really smooth tasting.
I work at Starbucks but drink Cafe Domingo exclusively. Rich, clean, good finish. Unfortunately my local grocery stores have all stopped carrying this flavor. I have tried similar flavors but always want to return to CD.
