About this tea

Tea Story

Assam is the largest tea-growing area in the world, and home to India’s only indigenous tea plants. From the moment the first lots sold at the 1839 London auction, Assam tea has maintained its dominance among British tea blends, due to its strong brew and perfect compatibility with milk. Golden Tip’s namesake leaves turn color during the peak quality period of the second flush, adding a pop of gold among the rich, black leaves.

Brewing Tips

Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
Bring the water to a rolling boil; steep tea for 3 to 5 minutes.
Strain leaves while pouring.

Assam Golden leaf is what you think of when you think of a classic English cup of tea - except better. It is so rich and malty that it's hard to imagine having it without milk, British-style. When you are craving a classic, you can do no better than this.

This has been my daily tea for a number of years and I still find myself taking a sip and thinking, "Man, that's good!" Unlike the other reviewers, I don't add anything to it. It stands up well to multiple infusions. I highly recommend it to my family and friends.

I just tried this and have decided it's my favorite tea. It's full bodied and great with milk so it made my transition from coffee to tea much easier.

I have been a regular drinker of this tea for the last six years. I love the rich, strong taste. It is the one tea that if you leave it more than three minutes will not get too bitter. It is fantastic with cream. I have this every morning.

It's like a whole other sensation. Round and firm. Just makes you feel good. Hope it doesn't become illegal.

Currently my favorite tea: mellow and round. Morning must with milk and sugar. Flavor analogy, if you drink wine: Assam is to Merlot like English Breakfast is to Cabernet.

The aroma is sweet like molasses. The bright, deep flavor of the dark red-brown liquor lingers on the tongue with gentle bitter notes. The tea is delicious with cream and sugar, but I love it best with a squeeze of fresh lemon.

I think this tea is hugely over -looked. It has a sweet, pungent aroma that when combined with a bit of soy milk makes for the most pleasing cup of tea. I highly reccommend this tea!
