About this tea

Tea Story

This tea comes from central China’s Hubei province, about halfway up from the river level of the Yi Chong gorge. The bud and leaf sets are plucked to a uniform size standard, and after careful leaf processing, become a narrow, dark green leaf with silver tips. We enjoy this tea for its classic “China green” flavor, the mellow vegetal notes being more subdued than the green teas of Japan. Hubei Silver Tip does show a more brisk astringency than most, with hints of sweet lemon.

Brewing Tips

Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
Bring the water to boil; let it cool for 2 minutes (180° F) before steeping tea for 3 minutes.
Strain leaves while pouring.
