Tea Story

Combining India teas with the unmistakable smokiness of Lapsang Souchong, this rich, hearty brew is impossible to ignore. Leaf sizes range from small, flaky Broken Orange Pekoe to long Souchong grade whole leaves. With its full body, pungent taste and woodsmoke aroma, it’s a great tea for a cold, bold morning.

Brewing Tips

Start with a preheated cup or teapot.
Measure 1 spoonful (3g) of tea for each cup of water.
Bring the water to a rolling boil; steep tea for 4 to 5 minutes.
Strain leaves while pouring.

Scottish Breakfast Tea should be strong on Assam, with secondary notes of Orange Pekoe for oakiness. This really doesn''t stack up to a good Scottish Breakfast.

Wonderful full bodied smokey cuppa tea I love it anytime of the year especially in the afternoon a natural pick me upper without the caffeine kick

I've never had anything but great tea and coffee from Peet's, but I have favorites. The best way to begin a busy day is with strong, complex Scottish Breakfast tea. It has enough body and flavor to wake me up, and that tea and old, old fashioned oatmeal are all a breakfast needs. It's a pleasant start.

It's simple....This tea reminds me of the Higlands of Scotland! The smokiness remimds me of those single malt whiskeys I love so much. To drink this tea feels like I am back trekking in the Higlands. And isn't that what a good cup of tea is suppose to do? Relax you and take you to places you miss??? I tried it once at Peet's cafe years ago and have enjoyed it ever since.

This is a wonderful full bodied tea that is full of character and flavor. It is a perfect match for my English blend pipe tobaccos I enjoy. The aroma of this tea fills the room with a pungiant, malty, smokey aroma that is truly invigorating. The flavor of the tea is remarkable with a strong malty component backed by sweet, smokey notes and sweet spices. I could drink this all day if I wanted to, I will definately be purchasing a pound of this tea for a constant supply. Highly recommended.

Scottish Breakfast is one of those robust black teas with a sharp finish that makes it a perfect candidate for a little milk and sugar. More body than the Irish and English Breakfast teas, and the herbal aroma will make you think of fresh hay and rolling countrysides. Perfect for a rainy morning.

Incredibly intense tea. I'll admit I tend to stick to more mellow, naturally sweet, and fragrant teas (Yunnan comes to mind). One of my friends recently recommended trying Scottish Breakfast with a little bit of Black Currant. Alone, Scottish is incredibly aromatic, smoky and a little herbally, with a nice bite & richness. Black Currant on the other hand is super sweet and fruity. The two teas together oddly enough balance each other out in aroma and flavor. Not too sweet but not too smoky either. Hopefully I'll eventually make my way up to drinking Scottish Breakfast by itself. Until then, I'll be making this blend & thanking my friend Dave for suggesting it.

There's a clear aroma connection to its English and Irish cousins, but this stout Scot stands alone in earthy and full-bodied flavor. Delicious with a wee bit of milk in the morning. Kind of like a cashmere sweater to warm your insides.

This blend combines two different worlds: smooth, smoky chinese black tea and crisp, clean Indian black tea. The result is a complex cup that combines lively spice notes with a toasty, woodsy start and finish. The smoky aroma is pleasing and provides a nice intoduction for what is to come. Enjoy this tea with a book!

Scottish Breakfast tea reaches out with a pine smoke aroma as it brews and holds you from the first taste with a serious embrace of rich, dark flavor. Great breakfast teas, softened with milk or cream, become a little sweeter, a little more like liquid gold. In the case of Scottish Breakfast, the brew is tempered with Lapsang Souchong which gives it that woodsy, smoky taste. This tea is warrior strong and deeply comforting. Have a cup before and after every adventure. It will fortify you and welcome you home.

Scottish Breakfast has a traditional black tea taste with a natural sweetness. Its smoky flavor and full body awakens the senses in the morning and calms the nerves in the evening. The tea sparkles a bit on the tongue and is complimented well by adding sugar and/or milk.
