AIDS Walk San Francisco 2009
July 19, 2009
On Sunday, July 19, a Peet’s team of more than 80 Peetniks, from our home office and Northern California retail stores, will join thousands of individuals to walk and raise money in Northern California's largest AIDS fundraising event. Mission Street will provide brewed coffee for AIDS Walk SF event organizers and volunteers for the week leading up to the event to keep them fueled while preparing for this very important day. California Shakespeare Festival

Eden’s Run to the Lake 10K/5K

Benefiting Eden Medical Center’s Trauma Center. The course begins and ends at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and run to Lake Chabot Park. The 5k course is flat and fast. The challenging 10K course runs along the rolling, hilly west trail of Lake Chabot, with paved and trail surfaces. Eden Medical Center participates in a series of community events, where the hospital is on hand to offer free health screenings and information. Lance Armstrong’s Live Strong Challenge, San Jose

The people of San Jose and its surrounding communities will descend on downtown San Jose to take its second LIVESTRONG Challenge, the Lance Armstrong Foundation's signature fundraising event. The 5K Run/Walk and 10, 50, 65, and 100-mile rides will raise money and awareness to inspire and empower the nearly 12 million Americans affected by cancer.

Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $260 million for the cause. All Memory Walk donations benefit the Alzheimer's Association, the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Bike the Bay

“Bike the Bay” is an annual fundraising/community event that brings residents of all over San Diego County. The 25-mile ride takes cyclists of all abilities on a scenic and primarily flat ride around the San Diego Bay via the recently improved Bayshore Bikeway. Along the way, riders will travel through surrounding cities and ride across the Coronado Bay Bridge. Proceeds from the ride will benefit the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to making bicycling better in San Diego.

Portland Race for the Cure®

This year marks the 18th year of the Komen Portland Race for the Cure®. On Sunday, September 20, thousands will join together at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland. Last year, nearly 46,000 participants and 1,200 volunteers joined together for the third largest Komen Race event in the country. Participants generated more than $2.6 million dollars for the Oregon & SW Washington Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.
