For more than thirty-five years, Peet's has offered teas of stellar selection, skillful blending and freshness without equal. Our specialty in European-style black teas has been augmented over the years by oolongs, green teas and herbal infusions.
We travel regularly to tea gardens in prime growing areas, and we rely on relationships we have carefully built over the years to help discover teas that fit our specifications for aroma, astringency, and flavor. We always seek unique producers who grow, pluck, process and grade the teas that have the quality and flavor we require. We are rigorous in our tasting, selection, and blending.
We select single-origin teas from regions where the soil, weather, and altitude are ideal for tea growing. We select teas from producers who are skilled and quality-conscious, and who practice traditional methods for processing the freshly picked leaf into finished tea. We place our primary emphasis on the wide range of flavors manifest in the leaf of the true tea bush (camellia sinensis), and we present the majority of our teas without additional flavoring.
