This story was a long time coming. I love Houtman's clear depiction of Mr. Peet's single-minded obsession with quality. He was uncompromising, and unapologetic about it...no wonder we all still love the coffee today!

Finally! A book about Alfred Peet and his coffee journey written by none other than a Dutch author. Houtman did a great deal of research for the book and for someone like myself that is born and raised in the Bay Area, but raised by Dutch-Indonesian family, he touched on all these roots that made Peet a success.
