How It Tastes

Complex and chocolaty flavors, with a well-rounded body and touch of sweetness.

History

There's a rich tradition behind this blend, which brings together Mocca beans from Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee, with their Javanese descendants. And although the spelling may be different — we also source rare Mochas from Arabia — this water-processed decaf has some serious flavor.

Worth Noting

With the top-grade Mocca-Java coffee that goes into this blend, the water process yields a discerning decaf that's brilliant and complex, with an added dimension of chocolaty sweetness.

J O Y! I'm HOME again! I had to stop drinking caffeinated coffee because of some health issues with my endocrine system, any caffeine sent me through the roof all the way into panic attacks. And my coffee! I grew up on coffee. My decades-long close friend! I was heartbroken, and decaf tasted like, well, it didn't taste like anything. One day last autumn, my husband brought a 12 oz bag of this home to me found at a local "green" grocery store. I opened it half-heartedly, and when I made a small pot, my husband Mr. Caffeine himself raved...saying it was better than any caffeinated coffee he'd ever tasted (that, along with the fact even when I had caffeinated coffee, I made mine half the strength he did! So, if he says that it's got BODY for sure!) The flavor is strong, robust but not bitter. I would never have believed this could be a reality for me. I LOVE IT. And I am happy again. THANK YOU.

It's so hard to find good decaf. And with this blend you get good decaf. You don't feel like you're being cheated for flavor. When you open the package and stick your nose in and breath deeply you can smell how fresh the roast is. I love this coffee.

Best tasting decaf coffee! French press style makes the flavor even better. Definitely worth a try!

I discovered Peet's on a visit to Portland. I drink half-caf to stop me flying into orbit. This is hands down the best decaf I have EVER tasted. Unfortuantely I live in BC and will have to stock up next time I go across the border because now it's gone I can't stop thinking about it! My office mates keep asking me too - hopein one of them will visit the US soon. AND we do have some GREAT coffee blends in Canada - just not much variety as far as decaf goes.
