au-ro-ra noun 1. A natural electrical phenomenon characterized by the appearance of streamers of reddish or greenish light in the sky, usually near the northern or southern magnetic pole. 2. Dawn.

cos-ta ri-ca au-ro-ra coffee 1. A light roast phenomenon characterized by the appearance of electric, citric Costa Rica and shimmering berry-sweet Kenya in your cup, usually near Peet’s.

We admit it. When we set out to create our second sensational light roast coffee, we took a page from our own playbook. Page One: use a great coffee. The grade of Costa Rica we selected for Aurora, like the Colombia we roast in Luminosa, is the top grade, Strictly Hard Bean Fancy, from the highlands of Tarrazú, or Naranjo, wherever we can find the double sweet, Lemon Bar intensity of a great Costa.

Page Two: Accent the great coffee with another great coffee, creating something that could be conceived of equally as a blend, or a uniquely augmented single-origin. Here we round the flavor of Aurora, and enhance its aromatic dimension, with a floral flourish of silky Kenya. The deep, molasses-like sugar browning notes, exceptional suavity, and signature note of blackcurrant could come from no other origin.

So Costa Rica is the star of a blend that Kenya renders celestial, just as Ethiopia enlightens Colombia in our elegant Luminosa. Similar in concept, impeccable in quality, uniquely brilliant in the cup, may they become fixtures of the light roast firmament.

Juicy acidity to begin with, followed by honeyed sweetness and a milk chocolate finish. The roast is light yet fully developed.

Saw this at a local store and thought I'd give it a try. I loved it. I actually kept the bag so I would not forget which coffee it was. It is a very flavorful coffee without that overly roasted taste. It has some subtle hint of citrus and as soon as you notice and are about to say hmmm that's...it's gone so it does not take away from the great coffee flavor. This will be my next go to coffee. I ended up with ground by mistake. If ground was this good I can't wait to get whole bean and grind it fresh.

I have been drinking at least a pot of coffee or more every day for the last 37 years. I am also very old school and do not care for the modern coffee's or coffee houses. I love just a plain old cup of joe. I saw this blend in the grocery store and what caught my was that it is a light roast. I figured if it was not burned to death like most modern coffee I would take a gamble with it. I am glad I did, coming from a life long coffee drinker the best way I can describe this coffee is rich, smooth, and flavorful. If you appreciate a great cup of coffee and don't care about trendy coffee give this a try.
