For those who enjoy the bold taste and smoky overtones of French Roast but prefer to do without the caffeine, we roast this blend of decaffeinated Latin American coffees in our inimitable style to bring out that distinctly intense flavor. Only the highest quality beans are hardy enough to stand up to both the decaffeination and the darkness of our roast — the result is a powerful, full-bodied brew that's well-liked even by coffee drinkers who normally shy from decaf.
Peet's French Roast is not a coffee for the cautious, but for those who embrace the powerful taste, pronounced smoky overtones, and pleasant bite. This dark, deeply flavorful blend pairs well with cream and sugar, and inspires reactions like this one from John ""Nic"" Nicolini, a Peet's roaster for over 20 years: “On a normal day, I cup 50 coffees before 7 a.m. But I always come back to French. You inhale that smoky aroma, and then a subtle sweetness pops out that awakens your taste buds. It’s visceral.”
Just bought this coffee a few hours ago, could not wait to taste it. Let me tell you that I loved it. Really smooth and tasty. One of the best thinks beside the taste is the SMELL..!! I love it. I love this coffee, cannot wait to keep doing more coffee.. <3
I gave a little bit to one of my friend (she does not like coffee) she loved it too.
I love this coffee with after-dinner dessert. It is a wonderful decaf.
I have a serious heart condition and was told by my doctor to stop drinking caffeine. I was drinking 8 travel mugs a day, and I only like dark roasts. (I literally started crying in the coffee aisle when I saw that they only had decaf mediums and lights.) I've been on a hunt for delicious decaf dark roast coffees, and I must have tried 8 or 9 different brands. Peet's takes the cake.
I grabbed this on my last visit to the States in February 2011. I have had a couple of different Peet's but this was the second bag of Peet's FR but first decaf. I couldn''t tell. Decafs have a distinct flavour - some would say awful - this one ticks the boxes of tasty, full flavour AND decaffinated. I hope to get more. Thanks Peet's!
Before I received Peet's coffee as a wedding present, I occasionally drank coffee, but never savored it. My favorite coffee of all time (both decaf and not). But any variety of Peet's is delicious.
Pete's French Roast decaf is absolutely the best. I've tried A LOT of decaf coffees (famous brands and others) and they're either sour, too acidic, or just plain horrible. This French Roast has a robust and rich flavor while smooth and easy on the stomach. Other coffees pale in comparison.
This popular decaffeinated coffee has all of the flavor as its caffeinated counter part. It's complex and roasty flavor will leave you wanting more.
