How It Tastes

Warmly spiced with notes of citrus and Mayan chocolate.

History

This year we selected southern Ethiopian coffee for its citrusy perfume, the sublimely syrupy and tobacco-spiced Sumatra of the Batak region, and the Mayan chocolate delights of Guatemala from the small farms of San Martín Jilotepeque in the highlands of Chimaltenango.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews of this year's Holiday Blend, but count me as one of those who thoroughly enjoy it. Granted, it's not a heavy-hitter, deep, dark kind of roast (which is what I usually prefer) this year. It is marginally lighter than the *Roasts of Christmas Past*, but it is still a great, flavorful roast. One I will really enjoy during this Christmas/holiday season. And, being now moved away from my native SF, having this roast shipped out just feels like a little slice of home, something I really love, particularly this time of year. Thank you again Peet's.

soft and velvety on the palate. Yes, different than the last 2-3 years, but , I am happy to always try the annual blend. It can't/won't be the same every year. That's part of the charm. No , it is not a 'dark-dark' roast , but it was not designed to be this year. It's just fine to drink and after the Holidays, will slide back to my dark Sumatra. Thank you , Peets.

Very disappointed. I purchased two packages at the grocery store. Did not have Peet's normal rich dark flavor or aroma. Did not taste like chocolate and no spices were discernable. I do not know what it is supposed to taste like, but it is just a muddled blend of hot water with a slight coffee flavor. I have tried brewing with different amounts of coffee, added cinnamon and even some sweetner which I never use. Nothing helps. I plan on returning the 2nd package.

We've been Peetniks since 1989 and have always looked forward to the Christmas Blend. However, I find this year's version somewhat disappointing. It lacks the flavor and robustness of previous years.

I too am among the disappointed. This Anniversary Blend, as well as many new offerings of late, is not up to Peet's usual standards. I remain a Peetnik however who subscribes to what I still consider to be the world's best- Major D Blend.
