Worth Noting

The steep hillside district of Darjeeling includes some 70 tea gardens, with the Bengal plain directly south and the Himalayan crest directly north. Weather, soil, high altitude and some of India’s oldest tea bushes create unique flavors that have resisted imitation anywhere else. Darjeeling Choice is a full-bodied Broken Orange Pekoe (B.O.P.) grade tea, emphasizing the brisk qualities of this origin.

I like this tea, but it was not as good as the other Darjeelings Peets carried. Now this too is gone. The only Darjeeling is now in bags at $0.58 each! I am afraid I'm going to go elsewhere to buy tea. I'm not abandoning Peet's. They have abandoned me.

We use this for chai: boil the tea for 45 minutes in milk with spices. (You can't make chai by simply brewing tea then adding milk.) This is the best and most affordable Indian tea for chai we have found.

Not worth the water to prove it with. Peets used to have the best Darjeeling and English breakfast teas I've had- on a par with the tea I drink in England as a child. Please Peets, Get rid of the current brand and bring back your previous quality ( loved the elegant packaging too)!

I'm so disappointed by the quality of Peet's Darjeeling teas and how much it has declined. I was a devotee of the tins of Darjeeling they used to sell for $10.95 for 4 oz. That was high quality, full leaf Darjeeling. This Mighty Leaf tea is one step above Orange Pekoe - low grade, crushed, not very flavorful. It's the kind of tea you would boil for masala chai but not brew for your afternoon pot of tea. And it should cost half of what it is being sold for given the poor quality. Please, please bring back the old Peet's Darjeeling!

For some years now my brother has bought me Darjeeling tea for Christmas from Peets. I enjoyed it very much. In 2015 Peets changed suppliers for their tea. I was greatly disappointed in the decreased quality of the tea. Instead of whole leaves it is crushed, much as would be used in a tea bag. The flavor is no better than what I could by at the grocery store. I have let him know it is not worth the expense to buy me this tea again.
