Ingredients

Organic black tea and organic bergamot oil

How It Tastes

One of the very few Earl Greys available that uses organic bergamot oil. The aroma is distinctively natural and the citrusy taste is deliciously bittersweet. Predominantly using black tea from Yunnan province in China, the flavor of this classic Earl Grey is round, faintly toasty, smooth with a sweet/dry finish that is unique yet familiar. It finds the balance between tea and bergamot all the way to the end of the cup.

History

Organic Earl Grey is made of rich organically grown black tea leaves and golden buds with a twist of citrusy organic bergamot. Bergamot oil is pressed from the rind of the fruit, then tumbled with the tea until the pungent aroma is absorbed. The result is a distinctive and aromatic flavor that's worthy of a nobleman. ? Whether or not the Second Earl of Grey actually "discovered" this blend is debatable, but its popularity is not.

Disappointing, odd aftertaste and the bergamot flavor seems much weaker than in previous orders.

This is my tea of choice after sampling all the other organic versions of Earl Grey I could get my hands on.

I first had Mighty Leaf at the Mandarin Oriental in DC and was hooked, found it on line and have been drinking it ever since. It's a great tea and priced competitively. You can get better for $$ but sometimes double the price. However, I am disappointed with a number of the changes online. I've always purchased the Kg bag and sometimes some tea bags for work. Now neither of these options appear to be available. I may have never discovered this tea if it wasn't for the tea bags at the hotel. Also, I had thought the tea was previously sourced from India or Sri Lanka not China but that could have been wishful thinking on my part.

This tea is an anemic version of Earl Grey. There used to be a Peet’s Earl Grey that was really pretty good.

This tea is incredible. It's probably the only good thing to come out of the switch to Mighty Leaf. I didn't like Earl Grey before, now I can't get enough. My with and I both drink it all day long.

It is disappointing that there isn't a decaf version available through Peet's, even on their website. During my wife's pregnancy she really craved this but couldn't have the caffeine. We found out too late that Mighty Leaf has their own website that offers a lot more tea than is available through Peet's, including a decaf (strange, considering that Peet's owns Mighty Leaf, but that's a different rant).

Anyway, this tea is fantastic. Great flavor and aroma, and just begs for milk and sugar. We buy by the pound.
