Organic black tea leaves

How It Tastes

Our take on a classic English Breakfast tea is a bold, wide-awake blend that'ss great straight, or with milk and sugar or honey. The malty taste is evidence of fine Assam tea, while the crisp and bright taste of Nilgiri tea shines through. In addition to these India tea origins, we've added East African Rwanda tea, a high elevation area producing brisk, citrusy, and toasty teas.

Breakfast teas are strongly associated with Britain, and the only general rules are that the blend be all black teas, contain no flavoring, and have enough natural strength to stand up to milk and sugar in the British style of serving. We use primarily Assam and Nilgiri teas from India in our Organic Breakfast.

Formerly my go-to morning cup of tea, the last tin I got this month has the aroma and flavor of expired rancid basil pesto. I don't even know how it's possible for tea to taste like this. I'm never buying Peet's tea ever again after this travesty.

One of our go-to breakfast teas from Peet's. Being organic makes it even more appealing. Did a fairly controlled taste comparison with 2 other black tea blends from Peet's, and this one held its own in every way.

Got this because my local Peet's was out of my current favorite which is Organic Darjeeling Kalimpong (others online dislike ODK but I love it). This one is undrinkable, however. Ordinarily I love Peet's teas, but I found myself pouring my cups of Organic Breakfast tea down the drain rather than drinking them. Twinings English Breakfast tea bags are better than this tea.

Excellent tea. Quite delicious as a breakfast tea or just simply ice tea. My sisters love it too as ice tea.

Very very disappointing that Peet's has discontinued its own brand of teas and substituted the undeniably inferior "Mighty Leaf" brand. Mighty Mediocre would be a more accurate name! Hoarding my last cans of the good stuff, but very sad about Peet's ill-conceived product decision.
