How It Tastes

Our take on a classic English Breakfast tea is a bold, wide-awake blend that’s great straight, or with milk and sugar or honey. The malty taste is evidence of fine Assam tea, while the crisp and bright taste of Nilgiri tea shines through. In addition to these India tea origins, we've added East African Rwanda tea, a high elevation area producing brisk, citrusy and toasty teas.

History

Breakfast teas are strongly associated with Britain, and the only general rules are that the blend be all black teas, contain no flavoring, and have enough natural strength to stand up to milk and sugar in the British style of serving. We use primarily Assam and Nilgiri teas from India in our Organic Breakfast.

This is by far the best English Breakfast blend out there plus it's organic! Once you have this breakfast blend nothing else will do.

Congo Kivu treats you with a rich start that reveals its inherent sweetness. But it doesn't drop off there. While you're relishing the lush softness, it gains momentum with caramel nuances that dazzle the taste buds deep in the back back of your tongue. And what follows is a long deep deep finish of incredibly smooth exclamations without any harsh bite. The Rift Valley is known and revered for it's limited offerings. This is one is a prize example of what those volcanic soils impart to complex flavor in the bean.

Tart cherry, bright and zesty, deep notes of sugar browning really describes this coffee perfectly. There are so many layers to this roast. All the flavors really do blend exquisitely. I really love this coffee! The beans arrived nice and fresh and oh the aroma....

Quite nice but not a favorite. Not sure how to describe it, but it is too acid for my taste.

I found the description of this coffee does not match the taste. I found it very nice smelling however in taste it's not nearly as smooth as other top quality Peet's variations. It's better if you mix this with other coffee's. Mix it with Mocha Java decaf or New Guinea Highlands makes it better in my opinion.
