How It Tastes

Irish Breakfast emphasizes the pungent and complex flavors of the Northeast Indian teas, with their malty, floral and sweet dry notes. The body is heavy with a brisk astringency on the palate. The cup is perfect plain but also delicious with a splash of milk.

History

The Irish are among the highest consumers of tea per capita in the world, so it’s fitting that our Irish Breakfast blend is a serious tea drinker’s cup. Compared with English blends, the Irish have traditionally favored even stronger-tasting black teas such as Assam. Not only do the teas need to stand up to milk, they need to stand up to the island's cold and blustery weather.

Anne from San Francisco, CA on 9/25/2016. Drinking Peet's since 1966.

My mother died young and we three little girls were raised by an Irish nanny for several years. She drank Irish tea every morning, and I came to love it as well. Your version is rich and deep in flavor, and almost strong enough to compete with the tea of my memory.
