By shining a spotlight on women-grown coffees, we celebrate and recognize the many contributions of women to the world of coffee and support the empowerment of women across the globe.

Coffee production is a labor-intensive practice. From planting, to caring for the trees, to picking, and hand sorting individual beans, it takes many hours and much attention to bring coffee from the tree to your cup. Almost without exception, it is women who take on these tasks, and despite this they are rarely credited or permitted ownership of the work that they do.

PEET’S RECOGNIZED THIS INEQUALITY AND CHOSE TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

In 2019, Peet’s founded the Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship in Huila, Colombia with the help of Sustainable Harvest, the Universidad EAN, and the Coocentral Cooperative. The center helped women coffee growers in Garzòn, Colombia expand their skills through business training, enabling their future through income diversification, so they could continue to grow their lives along with their beautiful coffee.

IN HONOR OF WOMEN’S MONTH

Fast forward to 2023, when we were proud to announce the formation of Mujeres to Market, the next phase of our partnership with these women coffee growers of Huila, Colombia. This program offers microloans to graduates of the Women’s Center for Entrepreneurship, members of the Coocentral Co-op, our partner in Colombia who will manage supporting these women with microloans financed by Peet’s. By putting their entrepreneurship tools into practice, these women growers will diversify their farms’ output rather than relying on coffee as a solo crop. As the microloans finance their farm diversification ventures, these women will develop year-round income streams. Diversifying their crops improves their financial resiliency, which leads to healthier lives, children, and communities, and enables women to continue farming exceptional coffee for us—and you.

Anniversary Blend 2025

This year’s Anniversary Blend features two washed coffees from East Africa and Latin America. Burundi’s juicy red fruits meet velvety chocolate from Colombia for a blend with big, plush body, jammy notes, and a silky, lingering finish. Every sip is a tribute to those who grow it, and with every cup you savor, you give back to the women growers at origin. Supporting the women of Coocentral Cooperative means supporting the entire region. We can drink to that.
