Ginger Spritz Recipe
Makes one serving
Ingredients
For the Ginger Spritz
1½ tablespoons turmeric-ginger syrup (see recipe, below)
4 tablespoons Masala Chai concentrate (see recipe, below)
Ice
1 can ginger beer
For the Turmeric-Ginger Syrup
1 cup water
½ cup honey or sugar (or a mix of both)
2 inches fresh ginger, sliced
1 teaspoon ground turmeric or 2 inches fresh turmeric root, sliced
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice, optional
For the Masala Chai Concentrate
2 Mighty Leaf Masala Chai teabags
1 cup of freshly drawn filtered water
1/4 cup granulated sugar (reduce amount of sugar for a less sweet option)
1 lemon wedge
Directions – Turmeric-Ginger Syrup
1. Combine water, sweetener, ginger, turmeric, and pepper (if using) in a small saucepan.
2. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10–15 minutes, until fragrant and slightly reduced.
3. Remove from heat, strain through a fine mesh sieve, and stir in lemon juice if desired.
4. Cool completely, then store in a sealed glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Directions – Masala Chai Concentrate (makes ~3 servings)
1. Bring the cup of water to a boil then remove from heat.
2. Steep the teabags 5 minutes then remove teabags.
3. Dissolve the sugar into the tea concentrate.
4. Stir in the juice of the lemon wedge.
Directions – Ginger Spritz
1. Fill a large glass with ice.
2.
Add turmeric-ginger syrup and Masala Chai concentrate to a large glass and stir to combine.
3. Add more ice and top with ginger beer.
