Intrigued, our founder worked with the local gourmand and coffee aficionado to refine it. They sampled countless combinations before arriving at what is now our all-time bestseller. The result was so good, Alfred Peet decided naming it after his friend wasn't enough—Dickason's rich, complex blend also deserved a promotion from sergeant to major.
Major Dickason's combines the best origin coffees from the world's premier growing regions, each imparting its distinctive regional characteristics while still effortlessly rounding into a smooth, balanced cup. Over the years, it has become the coffee that epitomizes Peet's: flavorful, deeply roasted, and unsurpassingly satisfying. But for us, "Major D" is just like a relationship with an old friend. We'll always remember it as the story of a customer's passion, an expert's palate, and a shared love of coffee.

In Colombia, luminosa means "shining or bright," and this bright blend layers subtle sweetness from Colombia with just the right touch of Ethiopia floral aromatics—a pair we knew would go perfectly together. We started with a coffee from the Huila region in Colombia's highlands, a place where beans are cultivated over 4,500 feet and known for their smooth, sweet character. Then to Ethiopia, coffee's birthplace, where unique varieties yield exquisite coffees with delicate aromas.

No, you can currently only change the coffee or series that you receive, not the grind that you receive.
If you chose the wrong grind in error, please reach out to our customer care team.
You will receive a tracking number once each order ships out. This is usually within 2 business days after you receive your order confirmation.
Payment information is needed to create the gift subscription to give you the ability to add on products or renew your gift subscription when it finishes.
Please know that you will NOT be charged for the gift subscription itself since it has already been prepaid by your gifter.
No, Peet’s Gift Subscriptions can only be purchased as 1 pound of coffee per month. The quantity of coffee cannot be increased.
However, you can add an additional paid subscription to your shipment or add paid one-time item to any of your upcoming gift subscription shipments.
Due to the order being prepaid, Gift Subscriptions cannot be canceled once they are purchased and redeemed. Please reach out to Customer Experience for additional assistance at customerservice@peets.com.
